  • May 9 - 10 - ODMA 55th Annual Event - The Old Dominion Meet Association is holding their 55th Annual event at Newport News. Events are planned for Friday and the show Saturday the 10th. The Historical Virginia Peninsula Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America in the host club for this year. The host hotel is the Omni off Rt 17 or J. Open to all Classic and Antique Cars & Trucks, Street Rods & Customs, Muscle Cars, Pony Cars and Specialty Vehicles.   • May 11 – The Fredericksburg Street Rods present the 18th Annual Mother’s Day Rod Run at Walker Grant Middle School located on Route 1 next to Purvis Ford in Fredericksburg, VA. The show runs from 9 AM to 3 PM. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Walker Grant Middle School’s Special Education Program. Pre-register before May 1st for a chance to win one of six $50 cash prizes. Dash plaques and goodie bags to the first 200, door prizes, adult games, long distance, hard luck and club participation awards. Top 25 and specialty trophies and a 50/50 drawing.   • May 17 - Thomas Dale High School 100th Anniversary Car Exhibit Sponsored by Oldies But Goodies Classic Cruizers. 10 a.m. to about 3:00 p.m. Car Owners can come and go as they please, or stay the whole time. This is part of the 100th Anniversary Commencement for Thomas Dale High School. OBGCC will provide the music and parking.. There will be two food vendors, Sibley's Barbeque and Chick-fil-a. Parking will be in the bus loop in front of the school and overflow into the student's parking lot, which holds over 500 cars. It would be nice if each alumni will put a paper on the front of their cars and print out their name and the year that they graduated so that everyone will know. There will be tours of the old Thomas Dale High School (Chester Middle) and the new Thomas Dale High School. No awards will be given. It is our gift back to Thomas Dale and its alumni.   • May 17 - Parrish Body Shop Inc., Fredericksburg, VA will be holding a car show to celebrate our 50 years of service to the Fredericksburg community. This car show will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will be held on May 17th 2008. Two $500 cash prizes will be awarded to only quality restorations from 1958 and before. Judging will be done by former All Pro Redskins player Mike Nelms. The entry fee is $50 and will be donated directly to J.D.R.F.
